SonyCCDTRV11NP FF OR REW (FOUND TEAR IN FP249) The unit would not rewind or fast forward. Found problem tobe caused by unit not sensing movement of the supply reel. This wascaused by a bad conection on FP249, caused by some sort of contact with asharp edge.
SonyCCDTRV11POOR FOCUS ON EVF (FOUND FOCUS RING ON CRT MOUNTED POORLY) The unit had poor focus on EVF. Found problem to be caused bythe focus ring being hot-glued to the CRT at an angle which preventedgood focus. This apparentlt occurred during manufacturing.
SonyCCDTRV11NO ZOOM (FOUND TAB WHICH FOLLOWS WORM GEAR DISLODGED) Lens would not zoom. After removing the zoom motor found thatthe inner tab which follows the worm gear on the motor shaft had twisted,preventing proper engagement with the worm gear.
SonyCCDTRV11DRUM IS UNUSUALY NOISY (TIGHTENED 3 SCREWS INSIDE OF DRUM) Drum made rubbing noise while spinning. After removing thebottom plate of the drum assy, found the 3 inner screws loose.
SonyCCDTRV11NO COLOR IN REC, E-E OK, PRE-REC OK (FOUND X701 BAD) Unit would not reord color. E-E color and playback ofpre-recorded tape color were OK. Found problem to be caused by X701 whichwas not put together properly.
SonyCCDTRV11INTERMITTENT NO POWER (FOUND COLD SOLDER ON J1 ON DD-80 MCB) Unit was intermittently dead. Found problem to be caused bycold solder on J1 of the DD-80 MCB.
SonyCCDTRV11EJECTS AFTER TRYING TO LOAD (REF 771 WAS JAMMED ON REF 752) After trying to load (with or without a tape) the unit wouldgo to eject mode. Problem was found to be caused by the pinch rollerassy, ref. 771, slipping over the base of the take-up guide assy., ref.752, causing these 2 parts to jam with each other.
SonyCCDTRV11EATS TAPES (FOUND TG4, REF. 765, WAS BENT) Unit would eat tapes. Found problem to be caused by TG4, ref.765, being bent.
SonyCCDTRV11NO POWER IN CAM MODE (FOUND DD-80 CN003 LOOSE FROM VC-167) Unit had no power in camera mode. Problem was caused by CN003of the DD-80 board which had come loose from the VC-167 board.
SonyCCDTRV11NO MIC RECORD (FOUND MIC JACK WAS INTERMITTENT) Unit would not record audio when an external mic was used.Problem was found to be caused by the mic jack, which was intermitent.
SonyCCDTRV11LINES THROUGH PICTURE (FOUND POOR SOLDERING OF IC201) Customer complaint was lines through picture found camerapicture wad distorted. Problem was found to be caused by IC201 on theVC-167 MCB, which was poorly soldered. IC201 is the Y/C processor.
SonyCCDTRV11DEAD (FOUND LOOSE CONNECTIONS AROUND IC400) Unit was dead. Problem was found to be caused by looseconnections around IC400 on the VC-167 MCB.
SonyCCDTRV11NO LCD PICTURE (FOUND "PANEL OPEN" SWITCH S501 LOOSE) There was no picture from the LCD panel. Problem was found tobe caused by S501 on the CF MCB being loose.
SonyCCDTRV11NO EJECT (FOUND SOLDER BRIDGE ON FP249 SHORTING SENSOR H002) Unit would not eject. Found problem to be caused by a solderbridge on FP-249 (below the takeup reel). The bridge shorted reelhall sensor H002, preventing any reel pulses from being generated.
SonyCCDTRV11EATS TAPES (FOUND TENSION SPRING, REF. 783 HAD COME LOOSE) Unit eats tape. Problem was found to be caused by tensionspring ref. 783, which had come loose.
